MISSION STATEMENT It is our commitment, as a family owned business, to create and manufacture the best possible jewelry for our clients. We always keep our standards at a higher level, even during lean times. It is very important to us that the quality of our product never strays. We enjoy giving honest advice and straight talk to our customers while at the same time, making new friends. COMPANY & FAMILY HISTORY CVR Jewelers takes its name from its owner Camille Victor Rahim. We have been in business for over twenty years. CVR Jewelers first started out doing jewelry manufacture and repairs for as many as nineteen stores in the state of Oregon. Victor has become well respected in both the local community and amongst his peers in the jewelry sector. He is a fourth generation jeweler and has been doing jewelry for over thirty five years. Victor was also awarded for his entry in Canadas National Diamond Design Competition sponsored by DeBeers Diamonds. The store is operated by Victor and his wife Teresa. CVR Jewelers is the only store in Eugene to be the sole manufacturer of over 400 beautiful and fashionable styles of jewelry. FOUR GENERATIONS OF JEWELERS The four generations of jewelers all began back in India just before the turn of the 20th century. My great grandmother (yes, a female) started the whole clan of Rahims in the jewelry industry. She then migrated to Trinidad & Tobago which is part of the Caribbean Islands. From there, my grandfather, father and I were born. Sonny Rahim, (my father) became a top expert in the field of goldsmithing. He was selected by the government of Trinidad to hand manufacture selected jewelry for the Queen of England and her sister Princess Margaret as a wedding gift from Trinidad & Tobago. In 1966, my father then migrated to Toronto, Canada. I was ten years old then, so I learned the trade in Toronto, under my fathers supervision. At age twenty, I entered and was awarded for designing in a national competition sponsored by DeBeers Diamonds. Soon after, I moved to Eugene, Oregon where I met my best friend and wife Teresa. You could say that the Rahims are slowly making their way around the world. From India to Trinidad, Toronto and then to Eugene, maybe in another hundred years the Rahims will have come full circle back to India. |
